Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): chainsaw mixing oil, volume basis, cycle oil

Question
OEM all want you to use their brand of mixing oil which tends to be very expensive on a per volume basis. I find lots of brands of mixing oil in quarts which claim to be OK for chainsaws, but they do not seem to have a standard rating like API for motor oils. Is there a standard I should look for ? Any brand suggestions ?

Answer
Any 2 cycle oil will be fine mixing for a chainsaw. As far as brands I tell people that it all comes from the ground and you can put whatever label you want on it and its still the same.So to answer your question,no you don't have to use there brand.I hope you find this useful and informative,
