Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): westwood s800, foot step, open switch

Hi David, i have a WestWood S800 ride on mower. but i need to test a safety switch, someone said about bypassing the switch.  The Switch is under the right hand side of the tractor (under the right foot step)would it be possible if you told me how to bypass it please. thank you Joe

Get yourself (borrow) a continuity tester to test the switch.  Every switch is a little different.  

To test a switch you should have continuity in one position and none in the other.  I cant tell you specifically which is which because it depends on the manufacturers design of a normally closed or normally open switch.

So to test this switch you would insert the tester into the switch and then activate what ever it is that controls it...Blade lever, clutch, brake, etc...
