Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): TROUBLE RUNNING, float bowl, gunk

Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I have an Eager II 6.75 HP lawnmower, which has started easily and run great for years.
Engine starts once primed, then dies almost immediately. If I continue to push on the prime bulb, I can keep it running for a bit, but once I stop, it feels like it is starved for fuel. I have emptied the tank and refreshed with new fuel, changed spark plug (was dry not wet with fuel), cleaned the fuel lines and inspected for free flow, changed air filter.

I'm getting frustrated......can you help ?
Thank you in advance

ANSWER: you need to either clean the carburetor professionally or replace it?

QUESTION: Do you have a instructions relating to cleaning the carb ?
I would like to do it myself if possible.
Thanks

Answer
There should be two bolts holding it on.Once its off you need to take the float bowl on the bottom off.Be sure not to lose anything and remember how it looks.Take the intake needle out(the float controls)And clean the needle and the hole.Take the main jet out and make sure it is clean and you can see though it.Clean the float and bowl, and replace it all and reinstall it.Carb&choke cleaner is needed to get the gunk out! Hope this helps,as long as you take your time and remember how everything goes back together you will be fine.
