Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cub Cadet lt 1045, cracked block, cub cadet

I have a lt1045 Cub Cadet. The 20 HP Kohler Courage Single Cylinder engine, has a cracked block. I was wondering if there is any other brand of engine I could put on it besides the courage engine that would bolt right up??? Is it worth fixing Or is this lawn mower trash???

Hi Andy,

Your question needs to be directed to the manufacturer of your lawn mower. They can properly advise you on their product.
It all depends on how much you paid for the machine initially, as to whether you decide to trash it or fix it.

I have seen 5HP engines selling for $250 & up.
