Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro weed eater, weed eater, couple days

Question
Hi, I have a Toro weed eater that wont start. Before it stopped working it would start for like a minute and then die. Then wouldn't start again for a couple days and then I get the same thing. I was taking pieces off today and trying different things. When I decided I had enough I realized that the primer bulb was leaking gas, it was ripped. Do you think that is my problem or do you have any ideas. Thanks

Yes that is part of the problem as the primer bulb shoots fuel into the carb body causing it to start then while it is running there is a vacuum and if there is a leak(such as the bulb) then it will not run properly. I would suggest at this time when you replace the bulb, clean carb and rebuild it with a rebuild kit since you have it off the equipment. The kits are inexpensive, just remember where all the parts go by taking pictures of the carb.
