Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): surging pressure washer, stratt, float bowl

Question
have a pres washer with brig stratt motor, works fine when washing, when at idle motor surges heavily high rpm to low rpm, back and forth constantly, only when not washing, seems to be getting worse. help?

Answer
Well that is different? It sounds like it isn't getting fuel steadily when at idle,so I would change the fuel filter first and if that does not fix it. I would say that the carburetor has some slight blockage and at high speed it gets the gas ok but when idling it only gets the gas every time it surges! I cant guarantee this will fix the problem but I would take the carb off and take any jets it has out and make sure they are clean and fuel can flow through them! Clean any gunk out of the float bowl, etc. Cant hurt to change the plug/air filter either. From your question this is what I am gathering.Unless its right in front of me its hard to guarantee anything.Hope I was able to help,
