Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): vacume fuel pump diagram, craftsman lawn mower, screw pump

Question
Hi my name is james,
I have just bought a craftsman lawn mower from some one and they had the carborator all torn apart and lost all of the screws and some of the parts. the model number of the engine is 42E707 and the type number is 2631 E1 and the code number is 9804065A. I beleave that there is a part missing in the fuel pump on the carb. I have a cap but there is no spots for the vaccume line and the gas line to go on. Is there a part in between the carb. and the cap. And it would be vary helpfull if you could send me an exploded diagram of the carb. and fuel pump it would be most helpfull.

thank you for your time and looking forword to your resonse
thank you again, James

Answer
There is a plastic manifold that goes in between the carb and the metal cap.  Also the diaphragms and springs.  There are two carburetors used on these engines, a 3-screw pump and a 4-screw pump.

You can find a diagram at http://www.grandjunctionsmallengines.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/default.aspx

Just look-up your engine model and type numbers from the Briggs dropdown menus and select carburetors from the drop-down menu of your engine parts list.  If you have trouble with it, you can email us through that site and we'll try and help you out.  Thanks, PK.
