Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Homelite XL2 Chainsaw, inch pitch, homelite xl2

I need help in finding a chain for my Homelite XL2, 12” Automatic chainsaw Serial Number 45012712.  Every where I look for a chain for my XL2 it says “ for Serial Number 50420001 and above”.  I am unable to find one for a lower serial number. The chain I have has a 37 number on each link and the drive sprocket has 6 teeth. The only other information I have is the information on the bar “095 Homelite PT-12371-B4”.  I would appreciate any information you can give me on where I can get a chain for this XL2.

The only reason that there would be a different chain, is that the older saws may have been equipped with 1/4 inch pitch chain.

The newer saws came with the 3/8 lo/pro chain, which is likely what you have now, as I believe the 37 means, just take the saw to a local shop, and they should be able to hook you up.  If not, let me
know....
