Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Engaging and disengaging blades, electric clutch, rear fenders

I have become the "proud" owner of a 1995 year model yardman.
How do I engage the blades ??
I know the deck goes back to engage them but I don't know how to do it.

Do you have the owner's manual?  If not, find the mower model number and go to MTD Products and download it.  The model nubmer will be on a sticker on the rear fenders or under the seat.

Most MTD mowers either have an electric clutch to engage the blades or the blades engage when you lower the deck.
