Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro lawnmower, speed jet, fuel line

Question
Hello:

Re: Toro Elec start lawnmower, appx. 2007,
Model # 20067
Serial #270019703

I bought a new Toro Elec. start lawnmower somewhere appx. spring- 2007, used it throughout the season until Sept,2008, here in Ma. It ran fine.

Now, I can start it, but it conks out after a few seconds. The only thing that helps, is priming it "while "it is on, which keeps it running, but usually conks out when no priming is done" while running"

Sometimes, it will run withour continuous priming, but labors slightly.

I ran out of fuel so I could put in new fuel, but this doesn't help.

To me, it seems like the fuel line is partially blocked, but, I realy need some pro advice on the problem.

When restarting, it does all this all over again.

Checked the spark plug and filter. They seem fine.

Cannot locate the purchase info, so, I may be out of luck

Hoping you can help.
Thanks,
Les

Answer
Sounds like you carb needs to be cleaned, take the nut off the bottom of the carb bowl, it likely will take a 1/2 inch wrench.
The nut is also the high speed jet, clean all of the holes in it
real good, and look at the fuel that dribbles out for dirt and water.

Reassemble, and it should run a lot better, if not fully fixed,
you may have to remove the whole carb and clean thoroughly.
