Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 19 hp twincylinder briggs, twin cylinder, fuel pump

Question
i have a 19 hp twin cylinder briggs on a craftsman tractor it will not pull fuel from tank i replaced the fuel pump diaphram cleaned the fuel lines fuel filter and then put carb back on was puting fuel in the carb to run the engine but it would never suck fuel from the tank and run on its own any ideas of what my problem might be?

Answer
You need to verify that the fuel pump is not working, there is a plug on the bottom side of the carb, remove it, and see if fuel dribbles out, then crank the engine, and if the fuel pump is working
you will see fuel come pulsing out, if you don't, then you need to
go back into the fuel pump, it is easily put back together wrong,
and getting all of those springs in the correct position  is a pain too.
If fuel does come out of that hole, then you need to remove the jet in the bottom of that hole and clean it out, it takes an
allen head wrench, 3/16s, I believe.
