AnswerMTD made your mower, 1988 model. MTD products lists the belts and blades. Do you have a 38" or 40" mower deck? Based on the model number you have a 38" deck.

Need the model number and verify the serial number. The blade and belt part numbers will be located in the owner's manual.
Usually MTD is really easy to find parts for but I could not find the blades or deck belt part number. However, any decent shop should have you parts in stock. Remove the old blades and take them with you. You can also Google MTD 38" blades and find several venders.
Locate the engine model, type and code number to order a starter. Are you sure the starter is bad?
