Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): JD325, answrs, selenoid

I have an JD 325 FH531V. It will turn over but won't crank. New sprk plgs and ignition coil,Got fire. Blew the gas line. Disconnected gas line at carb.Gas is getting to it. I sprayed gas in the intake. It will run till gas is gone. How do you adjust the carb? Looked on JDAddy. Lost my manual. How do I check the selenoid? You've got me this far just by reading your past answrs. I thank you! My hat is off to you.

if it will run when you spray gas into the carb this tells you that the carb is not getting fuel into the cylinder.  By introducing gas into the carb you getting it right into the cylinder.

you have an obstruction of some sort.  Carefully mark all your linkages, wires etc on the carb and remove it.  Disassemble it and I am sure you find gunk in the carb bowl, inlet pipe and main jet.

Clean it up, spray carb cleaner through the holes, probe it with a tag wire, reassemble and you should be good to go.  To prevent this in the future, run your carb completely dry of fuel before storing it.  Always use fresh fuel.
