Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): smokes on start up, dixon ztr, kohler command

Question
Dave I have a 2008 dixon ztr with a kohler command pro 20 .Ever since I bought it it has smoked on start up if it sits for a couple of days .Lately I have noticed some oil being used and it only has 70 hours. I took it back to the deal and they have orderd a new short block assembly and parts .They said that the bore machine had some chatter in cyliders from kohler and causes the cyliners no to seat properly . have you heard of this. and is kohler having a problem with there engines thanks for your imput on this matter Bill

Answer
yes,  I do remember vaugely kohler having some sort of a problem with smoking at startup. This has been like 3 years ago.  It sounds like you have a VERY good dealer that is working with you.  He will know how to get your problem resolved with Kohler.

Good Luck
