Answer Some of the Craftsman Kohlers had a Smartspark Module which
can cause problems, but I will need engine and mower model numbers.
But in general, remove the air filter, and squirt some fuel into
the carb, and try to start. If it starts and dies, then you have a fuel related problem. Take the plug out, and plug it on the wire, and lay it against the metal of the engine, and crank and look for spark. No spark and you have an ignition problem.
