Question
When I parked this mower this last fall it was running GREAT! I went to start the mower and it fired right up. When I tried to move the mower back it made a grinding sound and  would not go back. I tried to move it forward and got the same problem. It grinds when you try to put it in gear. Grass is getting tall what do I do? Again it was fine when I parked it! NOW IT GRINDS!!  PLEASE HELP

Answer
It sounds like your brake is just stuck, on the side of the trans is a little rotor and brake assy. which is engaged with a lever, and has a rod going to the pedal.
Find the lever, and wiggle it back and forth, and you will likely hear it clunk, if it keeps sticking, spray with some wd-40
