I am looking at two wood splitters one uses a Loncin and the other a Robin engine: both are 9HP. I can't find much on the Loncin. What I read of the Robin indicates it is OK. My use is processing my own firewood so I need the HP but won't push the machine w/a lot of hours a year. Your opinion please.

Hi Steve, get the one with the Robin engine, The other is an offshore engine but with little history. The robin is built by Subaru and has excellent industrial history. They are used in a lot of commercial equipment and are very, very good engines.  Good luck!
