Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sure Start Briggs and Stratton, briggs wont start

Question
Have a 6.75 B & S engine for a 2500 PSI pressure washer,
(B & S #802592 or 5095D0. I have replaced the fuel, cleaned
the float bowl, checked the fuel lines, made sure all
vacuum lines were attached, installed new spark plug....
still will not start unless I spray ether in the carb
then it dies ...... I am confused. Thanks

Answer
Your carburetor needs to come off and be soaked in cleaner for an hour or more.  Something is plugged up inside, most likely from fuel evaporating and leaving behind deposits.  Spray cleaner probably won't get it clean.  Then reassemble with a new carb kit.

If this has an emissions carb, and I imagine it does, you may find that you get it back together and it cranks and runs, but surges.  If so, you can either try cleaning it again or just replacing it.  in the shop, I replace them.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks, PK.
