Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Stihl chainsaw, grounding wires, switch mechanism

Question
I have recently obtained a Stihl 048 AV Electronic chainsaw, I have just stripped it down as it was a nonstarter at first so I cleaned it up but unfortunately it had a couple of wires not connected to the on/off switch mechanism, so I would be grateful if you could help. the serial number appears to be 6959459

Answer
Hello Derek:

>>These are Simply Grounding Wires.
>>One Wire Goes to the Engine and the Other Goes to the Ign Coil.
>>If you Hook them up Backwards, it will Not Matter as Long as the Switch is Good.
>>The Switch Simply Breaks the Ground so the Coil can Fire the Plug.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
