Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda HS35 wont shut off, honda hs35, place where people

Question
I recently acquired a Honda HS35 snowblower.  It had a bad CDI unit.  After replacing the CDI unit the on/off switch no longer works.  It doesn't matter if it is in the on or off position it continues to run.  I have to pull the plug wire to shut it off.  I don't think the switch is bad becuase it worked before I replaced the CDI unit.  It is a honda HS35 engine model G150.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Jeremy:

I think in the process of replacing the CDI unit you may have forgot to hook up a ground wire or a ground wire accidently got disconnected

Follow the small wire from the CDI Unit and make sure all connections are complete.

A common place where people forget to hook up the kill wire is where the low oil sensor comes out of the engine if so equipped. This is a wire that is located near the mounting base of the engine.

This should resolve your problem.  There is a slim chance that the circuitry in the CDI is bad, but its a very slim chance.
