Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): poulan pro pp025 gas trimmer, clutch assembly, arinet

Question
when i use my pp025 gas trimmer everything is fine until i release the throttle
trigger.  when i release it the head is designed to stop spinning while the motor
continues to run.  the problem is the head slows down but never stops
completely anymore.  it's like something is not fully disengaging.  i suspect it
has something to do with the clutch assembly.  please give your opinion?

Answer
Hello James:

>>If the Engine is Still Idling at the Proper Speed, then the Problem is the Clutch Throw Springs are Weak and the Clutch Assembly Requires Replacing. Once a Long, Long Time Ago the Springs were Sold Separately and could be Replaced, but the OEM's Realized they were Losing Money and Started Selling the Clutch as An Assembly. The Poulan Part # is 530055122 .
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog Poulan/Weed Eater.
