Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 17.5 hp murray riding lawn mower, loose hope, drawing power

Question
The battery is constantly going dead after setting up.When the mower starts it turns over very slowly after the key is turned on.The battery is a new one. After re-charging the battery the mower will start, although it will drag or turn over very slowly before it starts and the after use it will be dead again after setting up for a day or two any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Joey,  There could be a parasitic load on the battery.

This means that even after you turn the machine off, something is still drawing power.  You will have to troubleshoot the problem closely.

The other possibility is that your machine's (alternator) is not sending sufficient electrical power to recharge the battery.

Check all connections to ensure they are not loose.

Hope this information helps,
