Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): snowmobile repair, artic cat, ecu module

Question
I have a 1994 Artic cat ext 580 efi mountain cat. I ran just fine for about an hour. I turned it off then tried to start it and nothing, waited about two hours and it started right up. Any ideas?

Answer
Hello Bruce:

>>You can View a Breakdown of this Unit at this Site Addy;
http://www.jackssmallengines.net/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. The Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (Artic Cat) and Enter the Model Numbers 0650-282-1994. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Select the Sectional File. Now you can View the Section of the Mower that Pertains to this Repair.
>>This Problem is Usually Due to the ECU Heating up. The Symptom is Usually the Engine Runs Until Hot and Quits or Runs Until the Engine is Shut Off while Hot and then the Engine will Not Restart Until Cool and this Process is the Same Each Time the Unit is Operated.
>>Remove the ECU and have it Tested at your Nearest ATV Service Center. Most ATV Service Centers have the ECU Module Tester and can Test it in About 15 to 30 Minutes if they are Not Real Busy.
>>The Cost for Testing the ECU Varies by Region.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
