Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Fuel problem with ride on mower, engine diagrams, carburettor

I have got a husqvarna ride on with a 12.5hp briggs an stratton. It spits fuel out of carburettor when running and oil in contaminated with fuel. Have cleaned carburettor, could you suggest anything else?

Hi Adrian,

Definitely there shouldn't be any fuel being 'spit out by the carb.'

The only place the carb should be spitting gas is into the engine.  

I am not sure how the oil has become mixed with the gas.  Check all of you fuel lines leading into the carb.

Are you certain the carb is set properly?

I would check the manual closely and pay special attention to the engine diagrams.
