Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): carburator, leaky carburetor

Question
carb. leaking or not shutting off I have replaced needle and seat two times adjusted float that it points down into bowl but fuel keeps running out?

Answer
Hi Lowell,

I have come across similar leaky situations (carb's) when trying to

overhaul my Toro self-propelled lawn mower.  I replaced the rubber gasket (upper edge) of the bowl, but it still leaked.
If nothing else works, try installing a shut-off in the fuel line.  Usually the leakage occurs mainly when the machine is sitting idle.  Once you're finished with the machine, you can just turn the shut-off valve and no more leaks.

Hope this info helps you,

Howard B.

Ps. Let me know how it goes.
