Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): engine replacemnt - Tecumseh to Briggs, replacement engines, troybilt tiller

I have a TroyBilt tiller. It came with 3 hp H3035387V Horiz.
Shaft engine. Would like to know if I can replace with Briggs.
I have always had problem w/Tecumseh. Hard to start, must leave choke on all the time, but still will die unless you hold the governor open.

Might take some doing. If mounting hole don't line up will have to drill new ones. Also have to make sure any belts and such will line up.....Other than that a engine is a engine if the HP is roughly the same.......Briggs has been manufacturing replacement engines for Tecumseh equipped pieces since Tecumseh stopped manufacturing engines as of 12-31-2008.........Tom
