Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): homelite bp30185 ut08036r, turkey baster, time george

Question
My primer bulb will not pick up fuel, it collapses but is slow to inflate  again without fuel.is it  possible to get a replacement bulb or do have to buy the whole carb? Thanks for your time, George

Answer
Yes George, you can by it separately, either at your local Homelite dealer, or of course online. I recommend at your local dealer to save the shipping charges. Might want to think about, pulling the carb and cleaning it at the sometime. Sounds like there may be a blockage on the circuit. Sounds as if the primer is unable to draw the fuel because of the block. When a primer bulb is bad it usually is cracked or has a small hole in it, and pops back very quickly. Think of like a turkey baster with the bulb on the top, squeeze it and hold it while placing your finger on the bottom, then let go of the bulb, it just holds the vacuum, and does not return to shape. Just like your primer is doing, unable to get a draw of fuel. Could also be one of the small diaphragms on the carb too...............Tom
