Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Flywheel magnet orientation Kohler CV22s, proper polarity, flywheels

Question
I caught the epoxy giving way just in time before my flywheel let go, but unfortunately, I did not mark the magnets to orient their polarity correctly when I glued them back in. Now my Kohler won't charge. Changed the stator and voltage regulator and only thing left I can think of is how I reinstalled the magnets. How do I determine proper polarity and orientation? Thanks!

Answer
Hello John:

>>I have had this Issue come Up Often Over the Years and Unless the Magnets Are Marked before Removal, there is No Way of Knowing How they are to be Reinstalled.
>>I have Spoken to Kohler, Briggs, Tecumseh and the Other OEM's and they All Gave the Same Response. If Not Marked, then a New Flywheel is Required.
>>I Even Checked Other Flywheels and the Polarity is "NOT" the Same on All Flywheels, Even if they have the Same Model Numbers. This is One of the Reasons for the Specification/Type Numbers of the Engine.
>>In my Opinion it is Simply a Way to Sell More Flywheels.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
