Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro 421 snowblower shear pins, snowblower shear pins, auger hole

Question
I KNOW I broke one of the 321-10 shear pins on the auger, and
just took out one of spares and slid it into the auger hole, after manually turning the shaft to line up the holes.
HOWEVER, I can't, for the life of me, get the locknut to "catch" onto the threads. It's almost like the bolt is too short? It measures 1/4" NC x 1 5/8"

Answer
Hi James:

>>Sorry for the Delay. Snow and Ice have Hit Us hard and I have been Very Busy.
>>A Regular/Standard Bolt (Grade 5) is All that is Required for a Shear Bolt.
>>If the Bolt you have is too Short, then Purchase a Bolt (Grade 5) that is Just Long Enough for the Nut to Completely Thread Onto the Bolt.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
