Question
i have a 2006 techumseh enduro xl/c 357cc overhead valve 7500 watts western hemisphere i dont wich number is the modle number. my question is this. some times when i start it it runs fine for days then all of a sudden it will just shut off like some1 throgh a switch. ill go and it will start rite back up without doing anything other than pushing start button as long as i wait like 10 seconds if i try before that i end up having to chock it. but the problem is sometimes it will shut rite back off exzactly what i count as 11 seconds everytime and some times ill start it up and its fine for the next two days and other times i will have to restart it up to 20 times then i end up leaving it alone then ill come back an hr or so and it will start and run fine for a while or it will shut down like in 20 min almost like its heating up. other than this this is a great running generator oh also the on and off switch doesnt always work but i think that is just a conection. i hiope you can help me ive tried changing plug, fuel filter and oil. ive looked over the generator pretty close dont seem to be any rusty conects or bare wires etc. my email is  and phone number is  calling might be easier. thanks

Answer
Hello Chris:

>>Since this is a Tecumseh Engine, I have a PDF Site Addy that May Assist you. http://www.tecumsehpower.com/CustomerService/BSI.pdf  .  >>This Site Addy; http://www.outdoordistributors.com/Tecumseh/tmain.html has a Link to a PDF Trouble-Shooting Guide. Simply Select the Free PDF Download for the Tecumseh Trouble-Shooting Guide.
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the T. Then Select Tecumseh. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Enter the Model Numbers . Then Select your Model and Download the File for Online Viewing.
>>The Tecumseh Model Numbers are Uually on the Engine Blower Housing (Metal Engine Cover) and Possibly a Sticker on the Engines Tank. The Engine Numbers should be Sinilar to this Example; H50-23456D, OHV40-23456J, ect..
>>From your Description it Sounds like an Ign Coil/Module Problem. >>If the Engine is Stopping as if you Shut Of the Fire to the Plug, then the Ign Coil is Opening it's Internal Circuit Breaker so to Speak. It Sounds as if this Ign Coil has a Loose Winding and the Vibration of the Unit and the Motion of the Loose Winding; as to when the Ign Coil will Ground Out.
>>This Type of Problem is Rare, but it Happens more than One would Expect.
>>If this Unit has an Oil Sensor, then the Oil May be Thinning and the Sensor Grounds the Coil and Stops the Plug from Firing.
>>I'm 99.9% Sure the Ign Coil is Responsible for your Problem.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
