Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs and Stratton wiring, briggs and stratton, starter solenoid

I just purchased a intek 8hp horizontal shaft engine model 201417 and need some help there is nothing telling me how to wire it up I am looking for how to wire it for the electric start for the battery hook up and where all the wires go and what they are for.

Hello Charles:

The Only Wire to be Hooked Up the this Engine are the Charging /Stator Wire/s and the Large Starter Wire from the Starter Solenoid that is Usually Located on the Machine the Engine is Mounted to. The Stator/Charging Wires are Connected According to the Charging/Stator Design of this Engine. The Following is a Site Addy for Testing Stators on B&S Engines and should Show How to Connect the Stator to your Unit. Send me the Complete Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine and the Mower Model Numbers, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manuals and Better Assist you. The Engine Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. The Mower Model Numbers are Usually Located Under the Seat on a Sticker on the Body of the Mower. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/manual_and_more/doclist.aspx?categ... and Enter the Model Numbers (XXXXXX) and the First 4 Type Numbers (XXXX) in the Appropriate Boxes and Click GO.
