Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): blowing light snow causes water to freeze carburetor, kawasaki engine, flex pipe

Question
335 john deere Kawasaki engine, when blowing light snow, causes water to freeze in carburetor, blocking choke and throttle from working, when engine is shut off.  How can I fix this problem?????

Answer
Hello Ben:

This is the 3rd or 4th Time I have Seen this Problem Occur. Each Time Before I Ended up Making a Heat Riser that was Removeable for Warm Weather Use. The Heat Riser was McGuivered From Flex Pipe (Pre-Hearter Hose) that is Used on Automotive Engines. It is Attached to the Muffler Guard and then Just to the Side of the Carburetor. When the Engine is Running and the Muffler Heats Up the Heated Air will Follow the Pre Heater Hose to the Carburetor and a Small Amount of Warm Air is Drawn Into the Carburetor Preventing the Problem you Described. Most Snow Blower Engines Do Not Use an Air Filter. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
