Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro 724 Snowblower, assembly drawings, tecumseh engine

Question
I purchased a used Toro 724 Snowblower, mod. #38050, ser.#O013759 in 11/08.  It has a 7 hp Tecumseh engine, H70-130176E.  Since purchasing the snowblower I have replaced the oil seal, (due to oil leak), crankshaft bushing and cylinder cover gasket.  The problem I have now is that the front auger does not seem to turn fast enough to pull snow into second auger.  Snow will come out of shoot, but does not come out very fast or go very far.  Snow jams up quite often in auger and chute.  Do you think this is an engine problem?  Or should I be looking at something being wrong with the augers.  Belts look fine.  Thank you in advance for your help.  Eric

Answer
Hello Eric:

Are you Sure the Engine is Running at the Proper RPM's when at Full Throttle? You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm and Select Start Parts Viewer. Now Enter the Model Numbers (38050) and Click Search. Now Select View Assembly Drawings for your Year Model (1980). If the Engines RPM's are Correct and the Belts are Good and Not Slipping, then there is a Problem with the Augers. Usually the Slow Auger Speed is Due to Slipping Belts, Low Engine Speed or a Problem with the Gear Box. From your Description it Sounds like the Engine RPM's are to Low. Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
