QuestionQUESTION: JUST PICKED UP USED FORD YT16,, WITH A 16 HP KOULER ENG, AND 48: DECK.----IM NEW TO THIS MOWER BUT I CANT FIND ID PLATE TO GET MODEL #s.--- suppose to be on left frame rail i guess ???? is there any other way to get info on this mower ?????? so as i can order parts. -- all i know is it is a ford/new holland.

Hydro or Gear is Asking for the Type of Transaxle/Transmission that Drives the Unit. Usually the Unit will State on it Somewhere that it is a Hydro, Hydrostatic or Hydromatic Drive Unit and if Not Marked it is Usually a Gear Transaxle/Transmission Drive Unit. The Hydro Transaxles/Transmissions have a Cooling Fan Mounted on the Input Shaft of the Transaxle/Transmission. QUESTION: thanks again,-- i now know mine is a gear/trans. unit.---so with my 48 inch deck specs i narrowed it down to one model.--only thing is this one, and all the others dont have the same decals, on sides of hood as mine. ?????????- So if i want new decals on the sides of hood ill have to change the style. [which i didnt want too]------maybe i have a odd ball unit ,lol.---first year ? or last year model ??? - dont know.---any suggestions would be great.---- I could email u pic ??????

Ignore the Decals on the Unit. There are Different Decals for Different Retailers. If Everything Matches you Mower Except the Decals, then you Most Likely have Located the Correct Unit. To get the Same Decals you have to Know Who the Retailer of this Unit was. Once that is Known, then you can get the Same Decals that the Unit Now has.
