Question
Question
My engine would not turn over more than one crank and I thought the battery was dead so i charged it. The next day it started rough and smoked until it chocked itself out.I started it again and it did the same, I must say alot of smoke. I checked my oil and there was gas in it I also noticed gas around the muffler and my wife said it has been stinking of gas in the garage bad, I did have to add gas before starting and I know there was a decent amount after last the last use. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Answer
the carb is overflowing into the crankcase.  You need to rebuild the carb.  Remove and take apart.  clean all air and fuel passages with a wire from a wire tie.  Blow out with carb cleaner or compressed air.  Install new carb kit and mount using new mounting gaskets.  Flush fuel tank and install new fuel filter.
