Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Snowblower troubleshooting, craftsman snowblower, blower fan

Question
I own a Craftsman Snowblower Model 536-881.800  It starts fine, runs a bit rough but has never been an issue until now.  It has a new spark plug, oil, gas and was stored with Stabil and a full tank.
When I recently used the unit to clear a driveway of wet heavy snow the rear impellor (auger before the discharge shoot) clogs almost immediately.  It sounds like the engine is running light and is not generating the normal power.  I've checked for anything interfering with movement of the auger and found nothing.  I've also sprayed silicone throughout the auger housing but no help.

Any Suggestions?

Answer
I would suspect your right. The auger needs to turn at the correct speed. Could the belt have become wet and was slipping, or worn out? Also check  your rear blower fan, making sure it is turning correctly. The front augers job is to just pull the snow in then the second stage's blower fan drives it out the shoot. Make sure the auger in the front hasn't sheared a shear bolt that holds it to the shaft. If everything is mechanically sound you'll need to figure why it's not running right (Carburetor rebuild?).     Tom
