Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Hard starting Kawasaki engine after being Hot, kawasaki engine, exmark mower

Question
I have an exmark mower with a 19 horse Kawasaki engine with 1100 hours. The mower starts fine when cool.  After cutting a yard and trying to restart the engine within 20 minutes it is difficult. I usually have to choke it which usually helps. The longer it cools after being hot the better chance of a easy restart.

Answer
The first thing to do is clean the fuel cap vent.  If that is not it clean the fuel system.  Start at the tank and clean the filter and lines.  Remove the carb take apart and clean using a wire from a wire tie to clean all air and fuel passages.  Blow out with carb cleaner or compressed air.  Reassemble using a carb kit and use new mounting gaskets when reattaching.  Hook up the fuel and try it.  I think you will find the issue.

If this has been done then put a new head gasket in it and torque the bolts.  Then go to ignition modules.
