Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Small Lawn Mower B & S Engine, piston chamber, tank assembly

Question
I have a kick back problem. I have removed the head and
observed the values and piston actions. All seem to be
operating okay. I have removed the spark plug and pulled
the rope... no excessive gas in the piston chamber. I have
removed the gas tank assembly and replaced the carb
gaskets. There are no adjustments on this particular carb
so I may have to replace the carb if the problem continues.
What other scenario could be causing this kickback?

Answer
kickback usually comes from the ignition being out of time.  This comes from your flywheel key being sheared or your valves out of time.  Remove the flywheel and check the flywheel key I'm sure that's what will be but if it isn't you will have to take sump off the engine and check the timing marks on the cam gear and the crankshaft gear.  Best of luck I hope the information has helped you.
