Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snow Thrower Traction, shear bolts, traction drive

Question
John,  Got my Toro 526 all ready for winter but when I tried to have it go I couldn't get any traction.  The wheels just didn't want to move. Big problem?

Answer
Hello Bob:

You can View a Breakdown of the Unit at this Site Addy; http://savillesequip.com/ and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select Toro Consumer Products File. Then Select Snow Thrower File. Then Select your Model Unit. Now Select the Traction File. Carefully have Someone Engage the Traction while you Watch the Belts Turn the Pulleys. Follow the Traction Drive to Where it is Not Turning. There are Several Components that May have Broken or Sheared and the Power is Not Traveling Any Further. Usually, the Belt or the Chain are the Cause for this Problem. There are Shear Bolts in the Drive Wheel that will Shear Also and Cause this Problem. Make Sure the Engagement Linkage is Operating Correctly. Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
