QuestionRE: Briggs & Stratton Push Mower engine, model "W" Series.
"Mower starts and then immediately cuts off. It has been starting and running fine all season. Mower operation just got erratic in last few weeks -- last time, it cut off while mowing. Now it cuts off right after the start with pull out cord. Engine starts and cuts off instantly. Have cleaned and re-oiled Air Cleaner.

It seems the little spring near, or under the air cleaner area, does not change the position on control lever of carburetor, like it does not push the control back. Sometimes, the muffler makes a pop sound and blows black at the start, followed by the cut-off. What should be done? How do I know if this is to do with the Spark Plug? Your insight or suggestions will be appreciated.
