Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Power washer Honda GC160 will not start, honda gc160, throttle linkage

Question
This power washer has been sitting for 6 months with gas in it. It will not start.  All controls and choke are on.  I think that it is the old gas that clogged the carb.  Without taking the carb apart, can I blast air though the gas hose with some carb cleaner?  Any easy solution?

Thanks,

Jack Brophy

Answer
If you do that, you're probably blow the carburetor bowl.  Right off the bottom way to do it is disassemble the carburetor takeout the Main nozzle and use a wire from a wire tie to clean all air and fuel passages purchase a carburetor kit from your dealer and new mounting gaskets.  Install the carburetor attached  choke linkage throttle linkage and Gov. if you have an in-line fuel filter you should replace that to be sure there is good fuel flow from the tank to the carburetor.  You can always act flush tank by spraying carburetor cleaner into the outlet of the tank.  If there is a shutoff valve on the tank take it apart and clean it also.  Clean the fuel cap vent and you should be good to go.
