Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper Lawn Mower, snapper lawn mower, pull the rope

Question
My cord broke and I was wondering how to replace and wind the spring. It appears the string pully is rivited on the engine. Do you put a new string and wind the spring on the mower?

Answer
Remove the recoil starter and turn it over the rope is wrapped around the starter pulley you will see where the knot of the rope is tucked into a relief in the pulley.  Grasps the rope at that point and pull it out of the starter.  Turn the pulley to be sure the spring is still operating properly than get a piece of rope and tie a small not one end ask pre-wind the spring 2 1/2 turns rotate the pulley until the whole for the rope is in front of the whole in the starter housing Fred the rope through the pulley while hole straightedge with the other hand.  Tie slipknot in the rope and let it come back to the not put the starter handle back on and talk do not to the relief in the pulley.  Pull the rope in and out a couple of times sure you do not pull the rope all the way out to start it.
