when you try to start mower starter clicks. like it  hits a piece of medal. this happened while i was mowing grass. please help!!

Will the starter turn the engine?  If you remove the spark plug will the starter turn the engine?

Start by dis-connecting the battery and cleaning the battery terminal post and battery cable ends with a wirebrush.  Let me know if cleaning the connections helps the problem.
