Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): LX 500 toro, toro product, accurate size

I chewed up my throttle belt(drive melt pedal puts tension
on the belt) and need to replace it but have no idea of size.

If this is a Toro product you can go to www.Toro.com click on customer care then click on by parts.  You'll have to enter your model number and at least be able to choose the year of manufacture or you'll need an accurate Searl number.  Click on lookup parts and you will get an illustrated parts list indicating the parts unique to your machine.  This is the easiest way to get the accurate size belt.  You should be able to order it right off the website.  I hope this answers your question and helped you out good luck.
