Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): No spark on a Briggs and Stratton, briggs and stratton, success thanks

I've got a B&S 21hp (model # 40777) on a ride on mower that isn't getting any spark.  The engine hasn't been run in years, so I tried simply replacing the plugs, but with no success.

Answer
Remove the top engine metal housing to gain access to the ignition coil.

Dis-connect the small ground wire connected to the coil.  Remove spark plugs, re-connect to plug wires, ground tip of spark plug to metal engine part and check for spark.

If you have spark the coil is fine.
