Answer
Hello Richard:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool and I can Only Answer Questions from the Question Pool when I am Not Answering Questions here or at the Other Site I Answer Questions at. Usually the Crankshaft from a 8 HP Engine will Not Fit a 12 HP Engine. If you have the Time, you can Use the Catalog at the Site Addy I am Including to Check the Specifications of the Crankshafts and Rod Dimensions and you May be Able to Perform this Modification. Make Sure the Rod Specs for the 12 HP Match the Rod Specs for the 8 HP Rod and ect. The Catalog Site Addy is; http://faqs.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/faqs.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1487 . If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
