Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Variable speed pulley for Bolens garden tractor, variable speed pulley, sheave

Question
The floating sheave seems to not work properly and the tractor will move sometimes but others it will just sit there. Is it possible to repair this or should I just buy another one.

Answer
Hello Nick:

Usually you can Use Spray Lubrication (I Use PB Rust Catalyst) and Free Up the Sticking Floating Sheave. Remove the Belt from the Pulley and then Spray the Center of the Pulley so the Lubrication will Travel Between the Pulley and the Floating Sheave. Slide the Sheave Back and Forth Until it Moves Freely. If the Sheave Fails to Loosen, then the Variable Speed Pulley must be Replaced. You can View a Breakdown of this Unit at this Site Addy; http://www.buymtdonline.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Home_Bolens_10101_19502_-1 and Select the Use Our Detailed Parts Finder. Then Enter the Model Number and Click Search. Then Double Click on your Model. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
