Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): TROY BILT SELF PROPELLED MOWER, dirt patch, honda engine

Question
Greetings! I purchased a self propelled mower from Lowes last summer (Troy Bilt w/ a honda engine).  I am a petite woman so the self propel mower is ideal for me and I love the ease of owning one.  I was going down a hill near a dirt patch and when I turned the mower around to go back up the hill, the self propel stopped working.  I am not mechanically inclined and need to know what I can do to fix this asap as i have the back yard to mow soon.  Can anyone provide a logical answer/solution to this?  please help!! Did i break something or how can I get this fixed/

Answer
From your description I think that the belt came off the transmission.  There should be a cover over the belt take that off and inspect the belt.  If that is not yet checked to be sure that the linkage is properly attached and adjusted.

If it is not the belt or the linkage it could be internal in the transmission or in the wheel drive.  If you are not mechanically inclined to suggest taking it to a dealer because this could be very mechanical.  I hope I helped!
