Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): electrical problem, spark plug cable, safety switch

Question
Hi. I bought a Murray mid engine rider in 2005. it has a 12.5 B and S engine. model #309007x8a.It won't start unless i unplug a 3 pin connector that comes from the ignition. one of the wires runs to the armature and the other wire goes to a diode and then to the stator. the third wire is for an optional accessory. however, the interlock switch on the seat does not work, meaning i can get off the mower and it still runs. also, it will not turn off with the ignition. i have to pull the spark plug cable. If i plug this 3 pin connector back in, i have no spark and it will not start. any ideas?

Schematic
The safety switch is grounding the primary side of the coil preventing spark.

Since it is a newer mower, there should be a tranmission/clutch, blade engangement and seat safety switch.  One of the switches is causing the problem.  Have you traced the wires to each safety switch?

Do you have the owner's manual?
