Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 917-377420 stalling, carburetor body, craftsman 917

Question
I was given a lawnmover and since it looked like it needed service I gave it a tune up, new plug, filter, gas, oil, checked all cables.  The mower worked great for many months, but now it will run.  If I press the primer bulb a few times the engine will start but will immediately stop.  I checked the carb and could not find a clog, I removed air filter and did not find any problems.  I put in fuel and checked oil, checked plug.  I even tried using some starting fluid to aid.  i do not have a manual for this mower which is another problem, but I am out of ideas.  Anything else I can check before I need to find a service place?  Thank You,
Joe

Answer
If your engine will start and run with the primer and not on its own you have a fuel issue.  You could check health clearance and head gasket I think the issue is still in a fuel system.  Remove the car breaker and disassemble.  Use the wire from a twist tie to clean all the small air passages and fuel passages in the carburetor  Be sure you get the main nozzle out of the carburetor body.  Reassemble using a new carburetor kit and mounting gaskets.  You have already got rechecked fuel flow in that primer and fuel lines are attached to the proper place on the carburetor.  Clean the fuel cap vent.  I hope this will help please get back to me if not.
